Sunday Supper Here We Come!
We have absolutely no time to host a cookbook club this holiday season. Nor do we have the time or energy to cook a full day of meals from a single book, as we did last year, for the feast of Santa Lucia. [Ahh but what a success it was!] Still, this doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in a bit of a micro-cookbook club as a family.
This morning, we’ll lounge around with coffees and croissants and rifle through a few of our hardbound cookbooks on the shelf. Thankfully [or with much regret?], we have far less to choose from than Nigella, above. After dreaming up new additions to Christmas Dinner, and then coming back down to earth, we’ll make a cozy Sunday Supper from one of those books with whatever ingredients we have on hand.
UPDATE
While I hadn’t planned on using Nigella’s books when I chose this gorgeous James Merrell photo for today’s post, we’ve decided on a few easy recipes from Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat, Nigella Express, and Nigella Bites, for today’s cozy Sunday Supper.
We’re planning on Quick Calamari with Garlic Mayo from Nigella Express, Gingery Hot Duck from Nigella Bites, and Spice Studded Rice with Crispy Shallots, Garlic, and Cashew Nuts from Cook, Eat, Repeat!
But first, for lunch, as a bonus, and because it’s amazingly easy, we’re making Naan pizzas, inspired by Nigella Express.
