This spring, we found an injured bird in our backyard. We don’t keep a car, and we didn’t want to risk the trip across town in transit. But within 24 hours, the Toronto Wildlife Centre found a member in our neighbourhood who was willing to drive the injured animal to their site for care and recovery.
So, this second Tuesday of Advent, we are making a donation to the Toronto Wildlife Centre.
Their mission statement:
Toronto Wildlife Centre promotes the peaceful coexistence of people and wildlife by providing education and expert advice about wildlife situations, and providing medical care to sick, injured and orphaned wild animals with the ultimate goal of releasing healthy animals back into the wild.
Feel free to make a donation here or find a similar organization in your own community.
