Just when I thought our vacation was over [we just got back from our annual trip to Stratford – more on that, later] I found out about an awesome Tapas event going on right here in our own city. This may be Estrella Damm’s 3rd annual Tapas Journey in Toronto, but it’s the first time I’ve heard about the 10-day event. And, I’m psyched.
For $20 you get an Estrella Damm lager and three small plates from one of the 36 participating restaurants, all of which have been created exclusively for Tapas Journey. The list of restos is stellar, including Jackpot Chicken Rice, Bosk andThe Good Son [see the full list below]. And, the low price tag enables you to experience some fab plates from places that might normally be out of budget.
Here’s Chef Craig Wong from one of my favourite TO restos, Jackpot Chicken Rice, working on his Mongolian Lamb Hoagies for the event!
I’m also looking forward to the Wood-Grilled Octopus at The Good Son and the Chorizo Bomba from The Shangri-La’s Bosk hotel. I attended a luncheon at Bosk just a few months ago, pairing and incorporating Daura Damm beer [Estrella’s gluten-free sister] into each course, and I was blown away! So, I can’t wait to go back to see how the Estrella pairs with the plates offered there.
And, bonus, And, if you’re in Ottawa, you can experience your own Tapas Journey from September 15 – 24, 2017. Again, visit www.tapasjourney.com for full details.
