It’s An At-Home Ladies Holiday Luncheon!
Bea and I are usually having our annual trip to the Toronto Christmas Market about now. We browse the stalls, pick up last minute gifts, ride the Ferris Wheel, take a photo beneath the countdown-to-Christmas clock, and head to one of the fantastic restaurants in Toronto’s Distillery District for a mother-daughter luncheon.
Today, we’ll do what we can to have our fancy luncheon here at home. We’ll deck the dining or coffee table. We’ll serve cocktails and mocktails, coffee and drinking chocolate. And, instead of visiting our fave Distillery Resto, we’ll gather a French Bistro Style luncheon from our local East End vendors.
I foresee the annual feast of east coast oysters on the half-shell for Bea! And I’ll almost definitely have soup and a lovely salad. For dessert? Our favourite chocolates, naturally.
UPDATE!
This morning, I had a lovely walk through our East End Neighbourhood and was able to pick up or order all of the items we needed to make our Ladies Lunch at Home the best luncheon ever!
We’ve got Bea’s annual feast of fresh Oysters (not pictured) on order from @hookedinc @hookedonthedanforth ( I made my own mignonette – pic 2.) The makings of our fave @buvettenyc salad (pic. 3) and dressing from our local veggie stall! A warm baguette and the best butter croissants in the city from @celenasbakery (with a gift of fruitcake for myself! Check out their gift shelf! Pic 1!) A special sparkly gift for Bea from the @collected_joy Collected Collection. Gorgeous chocolates and chocolate stuffed cookies from @marysbrigadeiro (pic 4) Brie from a cheese place whose name escapes me! And a bottle of @lighthallvineyards Progression from one of our lovely trips to PEC (the other East End?). Instead of riding a Ferris Wheel, we’ll be watching Meet Me in St. Louis, because, well, all the feels!!! Cheers to one and all!
