Advent Day 9, 2020: Family Book Exchange, “The Classics”

It’s Our Annual Advent Family Book Exchange!

Today, we’ll draw names from a hat and purchase a book for a family member from a local shop or delivery service.
[Actually, we did this ahead of time, so everyone could open up a book this morning 😉 But you can still join in now!]

This year’s theme? “The Classics.”

What does that mean? We’re leaving it flexible. How about a vintage copy of a book from childhood, a new translation of an epic, something on today’s best-seller list people claim is an “instant classic,” one of the best sci-fi authors of all time [I’m thinking Octavia Butler], a reissue of a museum catalogue, or a schnazzy edition of a beloved holiday story?

Sky’s the limit. We’re thinking out of the box.

Here are the results!

For Toby: Hammett, Complete Novels, For Bea: Babitz, Eve’s Hollywood. For Me: Hughes, In a Lonely Place. For Blaise: Guthrie, Bound for Glory.
