DIY Temporary Tattoos

This Friday Crafternoon in Advent, we’re going to try our hand at making temporary tattoos using printable temporary tattoo sheets, a laser jet, and our Cricut Joy Xtra. We thought about downloading pre-fabbed santas and elves and gnomes and such. But I think we’re just going to stay on brand with tattoos from Blaise’s book, Bar Delicious, and whatever strikes our fancy. You do you.
But how? We’re going to use this Youtube video by Danny Crafts Official to make our items:

Film Noir
This evening, to complement our temporary new looks, we’re going to watch film noir and drink SSJ’s Smoked Gibsons. As for films, if you’re new to holiday noir, I’d suggest starting with The Lady in the Lake. We’ve seen a lot of holiday noir already. But we’re hoping to get our hands on a copy of a film called I Wouldn’t Be In Your Shoes, in which a man throws his tap shoes out the window at a cat and, because his shoes leave prints in a muddy courtyard, becomes a murder suspect. [Update: This just happened to be last Saturday Night’s selection on Turner Movie Classics’ Noir Alley, which I record weekly! It’s also available on the Criterion Channel via subscription.] We’re also interested in the inordinately bleak Blast of Silence, in which a hitman returns to NYC the week of Christmas to wipe out a mid-level mob boss. [This is available on Criterion Channel, Internet Archive, and for BlueRay rental at Toronto’s Bay Street Video.] So, yes, it’s likely to be a double feature.

Smoked Gibsons

As for the Gibsons, here’s a link to SSJ’s Smoked Gibson recipe, which we’re serving with those SSJ Signature Small Batch Cocktail Onions we jarred earlier in the season. [Note: SSJ cocktail posts are protected by Age-Gate and require users to enter a birth date.]
