BAKE OFF
To celebrate a very special person’s holiday homecoming, I’m making a very special cake. Having watched a ton of Great British Bake-Off episodes, I’m astounded by the times people express their love for a Coffee & Walnut Cake. I love a good digest recipe post, where someone makes a ton of different recipes for the same dish, compares and contrasts the results, and either crowns a winner or creates their own “perfect” script.
One of my favourites, in this manner, is Felicity Cloake’s “How to Make the Perfect Coffee and Walnut Cake” from The Guardian. Cloake, a fabulous food writer [you should buy her books!] takes varying C&W Cake recipes from food icons and incorporates the winning methodologies and ingredients into her own “perfect” iteration. Today, in the spirit of testing the testing, I’ll be making Cloake’s “Perfect Coffee and Walnut Cake” from The Guardian for my not-so-baby baby girl.
Find the recipe by clicking here or by clicking on the photo below. Please note, this is NOT my recipe! That honour belongs to Felicity Cloake and The Guardian. You can also support The Guardian here.

I’ll post my own results after I’ve finished the bake.
So exciting!
