Crossword Bonanza and Cookie Baking Marathon

There’s nothing I like more than making loads of cookies with the family on the Saturday before Christmas while we take turns taking a crack at the Globe & Mail Giant Holiday Crossword. After lunch, we have our first samples of the cookies we’ll plate up for family, friends and neighbours, before moving on to the mind-bending cryptic crosswords Toby finds for us. This year, I’ve made it a bit easier on myself by freezing portioned balls of dough for my Santa Babies, Soft Gingerbread Cookies, and Classic Chocolate Chippers ahead of time. The day of, we might also make Gluten-Free Orange Cardamom Crinkles, Brownie Cookies, or Pfeffernusse. Bring on the extra word play! Bring on the extra-large glasses of milk!
